Jammin' while on hold with call centres

One of my fave Amy tunes :)

Journey is always important to have on most playlists :)

Way back from 1997

Mystery calls from Van City

In the past I received mystery calls from Seattle and Van City. Sometimes Nevada and Florida. Each time I wonder who it is and each time I'm surprised I forget who it could be! It's Moose.

I met Moose last Spring. He is a heavily tattooed dude. Seriously. Like The Dude from The Big Lebowski. Just super cool. He was strutting West on Queen St. toward University, holding a few bags of purchases and smoking a huge-ass Cuban. Even the side of his head had tattoos. And here I was in my work clothes, having just left a pal I had dinner with at a burger place nearby. But was I weary of this 6'5" inked guy? Nope.

I just followed the sweet smell of the cigar and walked closely behind him. When we eventually met at a corner waiting for the red light to turn green, I commented on how great it smelled and he offered a puff. I declined, but we went out for drinks instead.

Sweet guy. But he lives in Las Vegas. We lost touch quickly.

Moose will be back in Toronto on another tour (he puts up and tears down stages. Last time he was in town, he was touring with Usher.) He wants to meet up again. More cigars and cocktails. Seems harmless enough, but now it's a planned event which means intentions are more prominent.

We'll see what happens.

Oldies but Goodies

Paul Anka!! Have you heard his cover album? He pulled a Johnny Cash, but his songs are more fun. He covered Nirvana's Teen Spirit. So awesome.

In college a boyfriend put this song on a mix tape he made me. I still love this song!

Englebert Humper- wha?

Remember Wooly Bully?

Antics

A fabulous Interpol album. My favourite one of theirs actually.

Antics is a fabulous way to describe my room mate. She is a crazy 40-year-old who has nothing better to do that to try to torment me with her crazy old lady antics.

I had started packing this week and removed some items that I don't necessarily need in the next couple weeks. A shelf. Some kitchen cutlery. The dust buster. I figure I'd start packing little by little to avoid packing in a rush and not being able to find anything I need once I move into my new spot.

The following day, Danielle sent me an email asking why I was removing all my things that she uses as well. She asked if it was because I didn't want her touching my stuff. Then said I failed to let her know I was removing the things she also uses and it was an inconvenience.

This email proved confusing because I also took down some photo hangings and window decorations and took out all my make-up from the bathroom (quite a bit, I love playing with eye shadow!)

Does she use my eyeshadow?

Clearly she is not happy because she must like some of my stuff and will miss it. In retaliation the day following my empty response ("I have to start packing at some point") she removed her toaster and kettle from the kitchen. They are not in any drawer or cupboard. So I unpacked mine since I had all my boxes out already and now have them displayed on the counter.

I'm not quite sure what point she was trying to make but removing her things. Either way, it surely was lost on her.

Coolio.

In the middle of a very awesome date last night, my gentleman friend and I were cruising while listening to the '90s channel on XM radio. And this song popped up. And I couldn't believe I remembered about 2/3 of the lyrics.

Were you thinking about the Weird Al version too? lol.

Another oldie (I guess it's considered an older now?) that cycled up on my iPod this morning is this JT tune.I never saw the video before I looked it up today. Had no idea ScarJo was in it!

The Diva Cup - Oh yes, I'm writing about it!

The Diva Cup has been circulating since 2007, but the idea of a menstrual cup started eons before - in the '30s! I figured it was worth a shot to try. The cup is made of silicone, costs only about $40 and lasts a lifetime, so I bought it. It will save be so much coin - even though I always buy my pads and tampons on sale.

Without getting too graphic - it's very comfortable. Kinda tricky to put in the first time, but once you get it, it's easy. The funny part about purchasing this thing is that there are two sizes to pick from:
1 for ladies under 30
2 for ladies 30 and over.

I'm going to be 30 in a little over two months, so I was a bit conflicted about which to buy. Apparently our hips widen as we age, so our vaginal muscles are looser... But, again, to avoid getting too graphic, if you do your kegels often like I do, you will require size 1. And even that seems too big, but I sqwooshed it in. You know, to get technical.

Most girls get pissy on their period, but I am going to start packing today. Woohoo! So excited! Three more weeks until I get outta there! I am handing in an application today for a gorgeous one bedroom several blocks from where I live currently. Fingers crossed I get the place. I am already thinking about how to decorate. Very jacked.

Also jacked coz I get to go white water rafting the week before I move. What a way to let off steam! Haven't been to the gym in a bit since I've been fighting off the last bit of the flu. So I better get back in and give my tri's and shoulders a good work at it.

And this weekend is Mother's Day. Aww. Gonna see my momma and give her something sparkly. Looking forward to giggles over wine. :)

My roommate is insane

I was thinking of leaving her with this card after I move out
